We’re Threaded Together at IBW 2017
You are invited to join thousands of babywearers from dozens of countries as we celebrate the threads that weave us together.

Will you Support International Babywearing Week 2017?

With the final details falling into place, we’re getting ready for week of celebrations, fun, and bonding during International Babywearing Week 2017. As a sponsor of this annual event, you can support these efforts and share your story with caregivers from over 30 countries.

International Babywearing Week (IBW) is a week-long opportunity to celebrate, advocate for, and focus media attention on the many benefits of babywearing. In 2017 more than 300 Official Celebrating Organizations participated in online and in-person events around the globe!  The dates for International Babywearing Week 2017 are October 2-8. This year our theme is “Threaded Together.” The inspiration from the theme comes from the textiles and the weaving process for all of the carriers we use. All of these individual threads, once woven, create a material. All of us babywearers come together to create a global community; we are united in the fact that we use carriers to wear our babies.

Our 2017 event finds us at an exciting crossroads as we prepare to expand this exciting event in 2018 and beyond. To prepare for this expansion, this year we’ve launched a new website, www.babywearingweek.org, and have increased outreach to our international community as well as U.S.-based babywearing groups.International Babywearing Week (IBW) is an annual outreach event sponsored by Babywearing International (BWI). BWI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with over 100 affiliated chapters and 1,200 educators and volunteers working in local communities across the United States.  Our chapters have approximately 9,400 paid supporting members and reached an estimated 150,000 parents and caregivers. In addition to International Babywearing week, our other national programs include the International Babywearing Conference and TheBabywearer.com (the premier online forum for babywearing enthusiasts).

A Note for International Sponsors:  We recognize that International Babywearing Week is a worldwide celebration and we encourage participation by babywearers, vendors, and manufacturers around the globe! However, as a US-based organization we must take care to follow US laws and regulations.  All product donations must meet applicable US consumer product and safety standards and be available for sale legally in the United States.  Beginning in 2015 all BWI-hosted giveaways and social media parties will be restricted to US participants due to international sweepstakes laws. However, we encourage international businesses and groups to hold their own IBW giveaways and contests.  International contest sponsors will be able to register with IBW, allowing them to promote their contest on the official IBW social media platforms and use the IBW logo graphics in conjunction with their giveaway.
